Laurence is a menswear designer. She was born in Cote d’Ivoire with a double culture:  European and African. She named her label 'Laurence Airline' as to hint at her own nomadic lifestyle. 

She graduated from Studio Berçot fashion school. She began her career as fashion designer while working with  Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton and continued as a trend reporter for French TV shows on Canal+.

Chauvin - Buthaud brings an international fashion perspective to contemporary Africa with a sustainable development frame. She now currently spends half the year in Côte d’Ivoire designing and producing the collections and the other half of the year in Paris to promote and sell the collection. She sources the printed fabric  that she uses in her collections directly in Africa.
